Classification of transfer printing fabrics

Thermal transfer printing uses the principle of sublimation of disperse dyes or inks, using paper as a carrier, and transferring patterns printed on paper to fabrics through temperature sublimation.

The key point of thermal transfer printing is that dyes must be sublimated under certain temperature and pressure conditions. Because Tencel fabrics are printed with reactive dyes, they do not require high temperature and pressure, and do not have sublimation conditions. Therefore, Tencel fabrics mainly use watermarks and digital printing. The heat transfer printing process cannot be used.

Classification and process principle of thermal transfer printing. Thermal transfer printing is usually divided into hot-melt transfer printing and sublimation transfer printing. Hot-melt transfer printing is often used for cotton products, but the disadvantage is that it has poor feel and air permeability. Dye-sublimation transfer printing is often used in the transfer printing of polyester. The disadvantage is that the plate-making cost is high.

The sublimation method is commonly used in thermal transfer printing. The principle is to use the sublimation characteristics of disperse dyes to transfer disperse dyes to synthetic fibers such as polyester and fix them under high temperature conditions. The specific process is to pass the pattern through the plate-making roller or flat screen, or it can be printed on the paper by a rotary screen printing machine with disperse dyes or inks. Then the transfer printing paper with patterns and patterns will be merged by the transfer printing machine and the fabric under the adapted temperature and pressure conditions. After physical and chemical action, the patterns and patterns on the paper will be sublimated and transferred to the surface of the fabric instantaneously, and at the same time diffuse and *** into the fiber. The inner layer is fixed.

This is the current process of thermal transfer printing on polyester fabrics. Dye-sublimation transfer printing can be divided into different printing methods: offset printing, gravure printing, silk printing, and data printing.
