If that is true, I wouldn’t expect Diablo 4 to arrive in 2020 or 2021. I’d draw the line at 2022, because 2023, four years from Diablo Gold today, seems comically far away, even for a game that may be early in development at the moment. We won’t know whether I’m right or wrong for at least a year, or when Blizzard starts announcing at least launching windows for every single match. But for the time being, it is likely to be a long wait for both sets of fans.

One of the greatest announcements out of Blizzcon this year was that the highly-anticipated show of Diablo 4. And though the game is still a long ways off, Blizzard released both a comedic trailer along with a gameplay trailer at Blizzcon, and let fortunate attendees get a hands-on time with it. From everything I have heard, if that’s from attendees or just information released by Blizzard, the game is shaping up to be quite incredible (though I am not at all pleased about the always-online requirement).

Blizzard also released a batch of screenshots in both 4K and ultra-wide resolutions that provide you a pretty good sense of exactly what this game will look like. I really like what I am seeing. Next up, the ultra-wide screenshots. Quite honestly, these are stunning. They show off more of the game’s surroundings, towns and monsters.

All told, quite the lovely batch of screenshots. While we probably have a couple of years to wait around for this game to finally come out, it’s hard not to feel excited. Obviously, Blizzard has made any significant errors lately, most notably by banning an expert Hearthstone participant for protesting the Hong Kong crackdown on livestream. A good deal of gamers are boycotting everything Activision-Blizzard because of the which I totally understand.
