It’s the off-hand equivalent of the spider wand, and it lets players cast spells using the off-hand slot”

What I don’t understand is: It is the off-hand equal of this spider wand. It allows players cast spells using the off-hand slot. What does this mean precisely and should I even bother using it at all? And, I do not understand what”off-hand slot” means. Well as I am sure you’ve noticed players can dual wield weapons today. In the past (as in pre-Evolution of Combat) other than 2 handed weapons your only choices were to use a one handed weapon with a defense or a marginally offensive shield slot thing such as a Defender or a God book, but they were shields in theory.

Dual wielding is more offensively focused obviously, and it is slightly better than using 2handed weapons since you get somewhat superior abilities. That is the reason why most people prefer using dual crossbows rather than a 2handed crossbow or bow, and a wand + the defense slot offensive weapon equal (usually orbs such as the Spider Orb) instead of staves (except in certain situations where you should risk only one thing ). Basically you need to see the orb as some sort of buy RS gold off-hand sword or crossbow even thought it does not resemble a weapon.
